Bath & Render

The bath was installed in the main bathroom today.

A second coat of render was put on some of the surfaces in the new extension.

Another surface in the extension. The hose popping out is for the natural gas (to a BBQ if we want out on the deck (yet to be built)).

More plastering

Hard set plaster in the master bedroom.

Roof on Porch

There is now a roof on the front porch. A colorbond metal roof in "Manor Red" will be put on it.

Exterior painting, trusses and cornices

Trusses have arrived for the roof of the new extension.

The first coat of "Self Destruct".

Cornices "crown mouldings" installed in one of the girl's bedrooms. Obviously a work in progress!

Work on the southern wall of the old part of the house and the new extension.

More painting and gyprocking

More undercoat was done on the exterior of the house.

Also gyprocking of the ceiling in the hallway and the vaulted area was done.

Porch gone

The porch was removed today to be built another day soon.

A whiter shade of pale

A white under coat was put on the northern brick wall today.

Ensuite gyprocking

More gyprocking of the ensuite was done.

Also the box framing for the extractor fan with heat lamps was started.

Bathrooms

Gyprocking of the ceiling in the main bathroom was done.

More insulation in the ensuite.

Wall paint and main bathroom floor

We tested a colour (called Self Destruct) on the exterior wall.

The installation of the main bathroom floor was started.

Porch, gyprock and insulation

The roof of the porch was removed. New beams will be installed, lining boards to be added and a colorbond roof.

Gyprocking (sheeting) of the walk-in-robe (WIR).

Installation of insulation in the wall between the WIR and ensuite.

Water tight and start of ceilings

The old part of the house has a roof and is essentially watertight (except for rain coming in horizontally).

Also the installation of ceilings has started in the old part of the house. This photo of the hallway looking towards the front door.

Roof nearly half complete

The roof for the old part of the house is nearly complete. Obviously gutters and downpipes need to be installed.

More roofing and plumbing

I had a meeting this morning on site so this photo is of the front gables being removed.

Later in the day the front gables were gone and some of the carpentry replaced.
