More Excavation

More excavation today on the northern boundary of the property for the rain water tanks. Great to see so much progress.

Excavation for rain water tanks

The new builder started today onsite. First order of business was the excavation of trenches for pipes to collect the water off the roof. This photo taken along the northern boundary of the property. To the left will eventually be the deck.

The two rain water tanks will have to be below the lowest gutter (gutter still to be installed). They will be installed along the length of the property and be gravity fed. Overflow will then go to the street.

Window Casement Stays

Today the casement stays for the old windows were installed. This view from one one of the front bedrooms.

New builder

Sorry I haven't posted for awhile. We fired the previous builder and as of today have a new builder who will start in 10 days or so.

Some work has been organised by us over the last few weeks. A highlight was getting the coloured splash back installed in the kitchen.

We have also being doing some cleaning up in the backyard. The BBQ is back in action and we have reinstalled the clothesline.

Rangehood

The "Pyramid of Power" rangehood was installed today.

It is back vented through the double brick.

When the rangehood is working the vanes of the vent open up automatically.

Installation of the kitchen & laundry

Today the kitchen and laundry was installed. This photo of the laundry looking to the south-west.

Floors and kitchen

A few tasks got completed this week. Earlier in the week the floor sanding in the old part of the house started.

The concrete floor was repolished.

Note the plumbing for the kitchen sink at the left hand side of the photo.

Today the kitchen and laundry were delivered.

On Monday they will be installed.
