Water tanks' retaining wall

We had our first reasonable day of weather (on a work day). The retaining wall for the water tanks was constructed. This view looking east.

Also some repair work to the bricks in the wall was done.

Weekend of painting

We had a painting weekend. Attacked the eaves on the southern side of the old part of the house with a prep coat first.

Then the first coat of paint.

The first coat over the blue board was applied today. This photo of the northern side of the new extension.

Grass growing and blue board setting

The blue board setters arrived today. First order of business is to put edging on the blue board.

The grass is starting to grow in the backyard.

Slab poured

Welcome to the 3rd calendar year of the build! Over the summer break we tidied up the back area. Hopefully we can get some grass to grow in this area as temporary fix.

The builders are back from their break and first order of business was to pour the slab for the water tanks. Progress. Next week the blue boarders are coming in to fix the external blue board.

The slab

Steel reinforcing for the slab went in today. It is hoped that the slab will be poured on Tuesday.

The last two weeks

Unfortunately over the last month and especially over the last two weeks we have had a lot of rain.



The last gutter along the northern roof of the old part of the house was installed.

A bigger, more solid deck post was installed.

A huge branch of the gum tree fell and luckily missed the house.

You can see where the branch snapped.

Today the formwork of the concrete slabs for the water tanks was started.
